Bentonite clay is one of the least known and some would say the most effective acne treatments out there. They say that the best acne treatment is a simple one. Bentonite clay is an all natural element that does not have any side effects. It is unlikely to cause irritation, redness, or any given side effects. It comes mostly from the Western states, and they have connected it to multiple benefits.

But how does bentonite treat acne?

Bentonite clay has been used for the most part to soothe the skin and draw out poisons. It has been used to treat bee stings, poison ivy, and various other problems. But as the best acne treatment, bentonite clay first works by detoxifying the body. Just like it draws poisons out of the body, bentonite clay also draws toxins that may hold you back out of the body. Sometimes, these toxins seep through the skin like deep seated bacteria. So no matter how clean you keep your skin, it seems that there is no end to the acne. With bentonite clay, you get that bacteria and those toxins out from underneath the surface of the skin, soothing skin and eliminating an underlying cause of acne all at once!

The other part is that bentonite clay works as the best acne treatment by enhancing blood flow through the skin. By doing this, it keeps any harmful substances moving and therefore, it moves them out of the body. But it also moves nutrients around. Sometimes your skin reacts to vitamin deficiencies by causing acne breakouts. With bentonite clay, you ensure that your skin will not have these common problems.

History of Philosophy’s On A Clear Day

Philosophy’s On A Clear Day is a skin care regimen that is meant to not only fade acne, but it is supposed to prevent breakouts and reduce the signs of aging. This is a routine that can be used daily. It contains a cleanser, an overall topical, a spot treatment topica, and a clarifying lotion. They even say that in a 2 week clinical study, 92% of the participants showed significant improvement in their skin. Will you be able to see improvements in your skin by using this product?

Benefits

Philosophy’s On A Clear Day is not a harsh product and can be used by those with sensitive skin. It can also be used every day without drying out you skin. The ingredient’s aren’t anything special, but many of them have been shown to work to at least clear up some blemishes.

Possible Side Effects

The amount of effective ingredients like Salicylic acid in Philosophy’s On A Clear Day is really very small. We also noticed that they really don’t have any anti-aging ingredients. Now we know that is not the main purpose of these products, but if they’re going to advertise it then they should at least include it. The ingredients are pretty much the same as any other acne product on the market, but may even have less of the ingredients.

Conclusion

We do not really suggest you buy Philosophy’s On A Clear Day. We don’t see how it is really going to improve your skin that much. They have cited studies that show it works, and we don’t doubt that it will work for some people. However, if you have oily skin or have struggled with acne for a long time we just don’t see how this product could be strong enough.

History of Natural Results Acne Treatment Kit

Natural Results Acne Treatment Kit is brought to you by Nature’s Gate. They say that this kit is the first of its kind. It contains a blend of Oligopeptide-10 and Salicylic Acid. They even say that you can see clear skin in just 6 weeks. The combination is supposed to help you fight bacteria and eliminate blemishes on the skin. The Natural Results Acne Treatment Kit contains a corrective cleanser, a calming toner, and a controlling lotion.

Benefits

We liked that Natural Results Acne Treatment Kit doesn’t contain any parabens and phthalates. These are just chemical fillers, and are sometimes harmful for those with sensitive skin. The combination of Oligopeptide-10 and Salicylic acid has also been shown to kill bacteria deep in the skin to fight acne before it starts.

Possible Side Effects

We weren’t sure the amount of salicylic acid in Natural Results Acne Treatment Kit would be enough for some people to fight acne. It only contains 1% which is less than many that have 2%. We also noted that the oligopeptide-10 is not in the same products as the salicylic acid is. This might lessen the effectiveness of the combination.

Conclusion

Natural Results Acne Treatment Kit is a kit that seems much better than many we have reviewed. It contains a cleanser, lotion, and toner which are all important parts of acne treatment programs. The only worry we have is that it is not strong enough for everyone. If you have oily skin then this may not be the product for you.

History of Mario Badescu Acne Repair Kit

Mario Badescu Acne Repair Kit is a new product from Mario Badescu. It was developed to help improve the health of your skin, and to repair damage from acne. It contains three different products. The first is a drying lotion that is supposed to clear up whiteheads. The next product is a drying cream that is supposed to cover up blemishes while they are healing. The last product is a buffering lotion that is supposed to help fight acne before it even shows up. This sounds quite similar to the MarioBadescu Acne Control Kit that we reviewed earlier. Can this work to clear up your acne?

Benefits

Mario Badescu Acne Repair Kit’s drying cream contains salicylic acid and zinc oxide which really will help to dry out whiteheads.

Possible Side Effects

We didn’t like how all the lotions in Mario Badescu Acne Repair Kit were so drying. These are meant to dry out any oil to kill pimples. However, they will also dry out the rest of your skin. This is not going to help repair your skin. In order to repair it you would need nourishing lotions that can provide moisture without clogging pores. This product does not have any ingredients that can do that.

Conclusion

We don’t really recommend Mario Badescu Acne Repair Kit. It seems that all three of the products in the kit are meant to do the same thing. They are all meant to dry your skin in different ways. This is not going to help repair your skin, and may even cause more problems. If you are drying your skin too much then it will try to compensate by producing even more oil. This then leads to more acne, and you are stuck in a cycle. Look for products that can spot treat, but nourish the rest of the skin.

History of Mario Badescu Acne Control Kit

Mario Badescu Acne Control Kit contains a facial cleanser, cucumber lotion, drying mask, drying cream, and drying lotion. The facial cleanser is meant to exfoliate and soothe inflamed skin. It contains aloe vera gel, hyaluronic acid, and salicylic acid. The cucumber lotion is actually an astringent that is supposed to sluff off dead skin and bacteria. The drying lotion and mask are both designed to shrink pimples. The drying cream is supposed to support healing of the skin. All of these are combined in this kit to provide a total acne treatment.

Benefits

Mario Badescu Acne Control Kit has many different ways to fight acne. It also comes with a canvas bag, a compact mirror, and a bath sponge. You get all of this for the affordable price of $77.00.

Possible Side Effects

Mario Badescu Acne Control Kit is meant for combination and oily skin. For those of you with skin that is prone to dryness this will definitely be too drying for you. It doesn’t contain a true lotion, and that is important in acne treatment programs. Too much drying can actually cause clogged pores.

Conclusion

We would recommend Mario Badescu Acne Control Kit for those with very oil skin. However, for everyone in between we would think that this would dry your skin too much. It contains many creams that are meant to dry the skin, and may actually irritate the skin. Look for products that have a good balance of moisturizing and spot reducers. This will keep the unaffected areas from becoming too dry.

History of Leptodrene

Leptodrene is a weight loss pill and an acne pill based on the latest craze. This craze is the acai berry. Many products are now including this ingredient in their products claiming that it is a superfood. They say that the acai berry has 10 times more antioxidants than many other fruits. They are supposed to help increase weight loss. Now, the problem is that when they are put into a pill the concentrations are usually very small. They amount is not enough to provide any results. So can this product actually help clear acne?

Benefits

We found that Leptodrene contains green tea and some good fibers. These ingredients have been shown to increase weight loss, but they have not been shown useful in treating acne.

Possible Side Effects

Leptodrene does not really contain any ingredients that are going to really help with acne. Acai can help, but the amounts in this pill are not really enough to prevent or get rid of acne. Usually a topical is more effective than a pill.

Conclusion

We do not recommend Leptodrene as an acne product, or a weight loss product. The ingredients are all natural and will not cause any bad side effects, but they will not give you any useful results. We suggest that you find an acne pill that can give you higher concentrations of antioxidants. Antioxidants can help to clear skin, and increase health, but will not be useful if they are not used in high enough amounts.

History of Dermacia

Dermacia is actually a cosmetic line. They have several different acne preventing products such as a toner, a cleanser, and a few different moisturizers. Dermacia products are specially designed for women with acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, or other skin problems. These products are supposed to be gentle and safe so that they don’t exacerbate the conditions, but instead improve the health of their skin.

Benefits

Many of the Dermacia products contain Hyaluronic Acid which has actually been shown to be effective in seeping into the skin to lock in moisture. It also contains all natural ingredients that should not irritate the skin, or cause any redness. For those who have sensitive skin issues these products really may provide some good benefits.

Possible Side Effects

Dermacia is not really an acne company. The products are meant to keep acne from getting worse, but are not really meant to treat acne. They do not contain bacteria killing ingredients, and do not have ingredients to help dry out oily skin. So if you’re looking for a strong acne fighter then this is not the product for you.

Conclusion

We would recommend Dermacia as a good moisturizer and gentle cleanser. If you’re looking for a strong acne product then this is not the one for you. We suggest finding products that are designed specifically for fighting acne. Having a cleanser and moisturizer are not enough for most people. Look for products with ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide that can actually kill bacteria, and prevent acne from returning.

History of Collective Wellbeing

Collective Wellbeing is a company that specializes in overall skin care. They have an acne product line that has several different products. One of the products is a kit called Change for the Better Acne Treatment Kit. This kit contains a cleanser, day cream, and a night cream. These are all supposed to work together to kill acne without causing your skin to dry out. They use common ingredient such as salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. So can these really work to clear your skin without causing you to peel?

Benefits

On the website for Collective Wellbeing we saw that there were many positive reviews. People seem to like their products. They also do contain ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide that have been shown to kill acne causing bacteria.

Possible Side Effects

The ingredients in the acne products from Collective Wellbeing are mostly natural. They have some good soothing ingredients, but also have other ingredients that can be harsh on the skin. Using salicylic acid in the morning and benzoyl peroxide at night is most likely too harsh for many people’s skin. This will most likely irritate the skin and cause redness and drying. We also didn’t like how many fillers these products contained.

Conclusion

Collective Wellbeing is not necessarily a bad acne product line. However, they are not going to help everyone. We’re sure that some people will see results using their products, but we feel that using the kit will be too harsh for many people. If you’re looking for something strong this may be a useful product for you. Not any different from many on the market, but not a bad product.

History of ClearX

ClearX is an anti-acne treatment in the form of a topical spray that utilizes “potent herbs, fruit extracts, nutrients, and minerals that nourish, help clear up and protect your skin.” ClearX is manufactured by the company Biome and does not use “chemical astringents, abrasive cleansers, and time consuming skin care regimens.” The complete ingredients for this spray are listed as wild pink rose water, citrus peel, olive leaf extract, white willow, and a “70 mineral complex. ClearX retails at the price of $40.

Benefits

All natural skin care products are often alluring because they offer none of the potential damage that can be caused by harsh chemicals and preservatives. The ingredients found in ClearX seem to be void of the possible rashes, redness, severe dryness and irritation that other treatments can cause.

Possible Side Effects

The only potential side effect that we can see would be in the form of an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients. This is always a risk when embarking on any new product and we recommend that you pay attention to any skin rashes, hives or irregular breathing you may experience the first few weeks of use. Since this is a topical treatment allergic reaction should be mild and confined to the areas of the skin where the spray has been applied.

Conclusion

While this product may not be dangerous it is also not effective. The truth is that harsher ingredients tend to be more successful when it comes to acne elimination because acne is caused by bacteria that are strong and hard to kill. None of the ingredients in the ClearX formulation are of the potency and power to reduce acne causing germs. We do not recommend ClearX for purchase or use at this time.

History of Clearskin

Clearskin is an acne-fighting topical spray that is meant to have deep cleansing powers that can extend further into your pores and cause a greater detoxification of bacteria and germs that cause your breakouts. Clearskin claims to offer a permanent end to all your acne issues by cleansing and eliminating current pimples, healing and repairing old wounds and scars, and preventing future breakouts. This topical spray has been developed around the ingredients collagen and niacinimide. It is suggested that the skin be thoroughly washed, exfoliated and pat dried before Clearskin is applied for maximum results.

Benefits

Collagen is a popular ingredient in many skin creams as it can boost the elasticity of skin and generate some reparative effects.

Possible Side Effects

The fact is that a mere topical spray is not going to give you the results you are seeking. Most acne sufferer’s have issues that are caused by contaminants lurking far beneath the skin’s surface. A strong cleanser and scrub are generally required in order to reach the bacteria that must be eliminated in order to get rid of breakouts once and for all. While collagen may aid in the elimination of wrinkle and age spots it has very little effect on skin damaged by past and present acne issues.

Conclusion

Clearskin does not seem like a product that will be able to deliver on its promises. There are no acne fighting ingredients that we could locate and its application seems lackluster at best. There are plenty of substantiated anti-acne systems available at this time. We suggest you find one with clinical documentation of success. We do not recommend Clearskin at this time.
