Proactiv - January 15th, 2010

Proactiv

Proactiv is a popular product developed to help you to get rid of your acne. It uses a 3 piece kit, and since they have offered various free gifts and then they expect you to buy them later after the introductory offer is up. All together, they now have several different products.

History of Proactiv

Proactiv was developed by dermatologists Rodan & Fields, and they claimed to use something different, because they were sick of prescription medications. Ironically, they actually used the ingredient most commonly found in prescription medications as well as over the counter treatments in general. This is not particularly surprising. They have since sold many by advertising through infomercials and in malls across America.

Benefits

Proactiv is said to provide acne fighting results, and with benzoyl peroxide, it has the potential to. It also has a moisturizer and toner that could contribute to this. But side effects are much more likely, and moreover, many times benzoyl peroxide doesn’t work. It goes without saying that this formula is far overpriced for what it has.

Possible Side Effects

Possible side effects of Proactiv include drying, feeling of warmth, itching, irritation, mild peeling, redness, selling, rash, hives, dizziness, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, excessive burning, tenderness of the skin, or extreme dryness.

Conclusion

We would not recommend using Proactiv. Proactiv doesn’t really affect your skin in the way you would like it to, and it can cause serious problems in general. Side effects are common, and you could literally buy this product in grocery stores across America at a cheaper price and under a different name. You could also get something better for the same or a lower price.
