SkinID is a Neutrogena product that claims to cater to every single skin type. They promise individualized results based on a small test they give you and they have a whole website dedicated with customer and celebrity testimonials among other things. they sell exclusively through phone and internet and every order comes with an auto ship.
History of SkinID
SkinID comes from the huge conglomerate Neutrogena, which is based in Skillman, New Jersey. It was created only rather recently, and since then it has become highly popular. Neutrogena on the other hand has actually been around for more years than most companies and products in general producing hundreds of grocery store products.
Benefits
SkinID in some cases and some formulas has effective acne fighting ingredients like tea tree oil, salicylic acid, and benzoyl peroxide. The problem is that almost all of them are extremely common, and frankly almost all the formulas are exactly the same. This doesn’t help users who are actually looking for something different from those they have already used such as Proactiv, and it definitely goes against their advertising to say the least.
Possible Side Effects
Possible side effects include severe drying, feeling of warmth, itching, irritation, mild peeling, redness, selling, rash, hives, dizziness, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, excessive burning, tenderness of the skin, or extreme dryness.
Conclusion
We would not recommend using SkinID. It doesn’t provide the results you want, and it doesn’t help you to achieve anything else really. They don’t have any formulas out of the ordinary or even different from each other really. They just have different bottles, which definitely doesn’t help. They have quite a few irritants, and we would not recommend these products.
